Allocate military and industrial stocks of PPE to the NHS to fight COVID-19
NHS Staff are currently recycling PPE stock which should be single use due to the current outbreak, rendering it ineffective. Reallocate unused PPE sitting in businesses, factories, dental surgeries, research labs, military supplies immediately. Who will care for the sick if the carers are sick?
Writing this on behalf of a family member who is currently on the frontline, her words:
The NHS doesn’t have enough PPE for staff to use in hospitals during this pandemic, my trust has over 200 staff infected at home. Early studies from Wuhan suggest our current PPE guidance is inadequate, we need to wear full PPE for all inpatients. Staff are recycling PPE because they have no choice, there isn’t enough! We are on the verge of catastrophe!
