Include Directors of Limited Companies in the Government’s Self Employed bailout
With the announcement from the Chancellor last night regarding guaranteeing self employed earners up to 80% of their trading profit, this excludes a large amount of self employed business owners, mainly those who are Directors of their own Limited Company.
Many of these Directors are the sole employee of their own limited company therefore should be entitled to the same level of support as sole traders as many do they same kind of jobs (e.g. Plumbers, Electricians, Kitchen Fitters).
Others employ additional staff who they are being expected to furlough and pay 80% of their wages when in fact the employee will be getting more than the Director and owner of the company. Too many of these businesses will go under resulting in increased job losses
