Create a national holiday or award in honour of the NHS and Emergency Services
I would like to put forward that the Government and parliament discuss the idea that once the Covid-19 outbreak has been contained in the UK, our NHS staff as well as Emergency Services personnel receive either a national holiday in their name or are awarded a medal/days pay tax free every year.
It would be a great thing to be able mark the occasion as well as recognise the unrelenting effort the NHS and emergency services made during the outbreak. The day we beat the disease should be enshrined in history, future generations should know about the fantastic solidarity and personal sacrifice health care workers made during this awful time. Whether this be in the form of a new national holiday with appropriate namesake or each worker receives a medal of service/financial bursary.
