Include people waiting to start a new job to be included in Furlough payments
Within the guidelines of the new furlough plan anyone who was between jobs is not entitled to a penny. If a work contract is in place and their new employers agree a future start date allow them to be included.
There are thousands of honest and hard working people unable to claim furlough. These people were waiting to start new jobs, with a contract and it is now delayed because of Coronavirus. These people should not be left behind or punished for accepting new jobs.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
There's already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue.
You are more likely to get action on this issue if you sign and share a single petition.
