Offer the "Self-employment Income Support Scheme" to SME directors as well
Currently, SME directors are excluded from the "Self-employment Income Support Scheme" meaning they are left with universal credit to keep themselves and the business afloat.
This seems very unfair and will be the end of lots of smaller Ltd companies for simply not being a sole trader.
In many cases, a Ltd company director can be drawing much less than a sole trader from their business.
The "business interruption loan" is merely the opportunity to get into more debt whilst everyone else gets bailed out, and to many is not an option.
Banks are still not clear on the guidelines and many also ask for a personal guarantee.
Many businesses have workshops, storage or property that doesn't have business rates which also excludes them from further help.
