Petition Action

Cancel tuition fees and student loans for all frontline NHS staff

Petition Details

COVID-19 has illustrated how understaffed, underfunded and undervalued the NHS is in the UK. To show the country’s gratitude to NHS frontline staff currently engaged in the battle against the virus, we call on the UK Government to offer the following support to frontline NHS staff throughout the UK:

Additional Information

Cancel all student debt owed by currently employed frontline NHS staff

For the next three years, offer all frontline NHS staff without a degree the opportunity to study for a medical degree, with the UK Government waiving all tuition fees, in conjunction with reinstating full bursaries to every person choosing to study a medical degree

Award a tax-free sum of £5000 to all frontline NHS staff who either have no outstanding student fees or choose not to pursue a degree.
