Change NHS dentists' contracts from Self-Employed to Full-Time Employees

Petition Details

NHS dentists should be given the same recognition for the work they perform, as all other NHS healthcare providers. They should have full-time employee status with all rights and benefits, fixed monthly salaries (non-target dependant), and free indemnity cover for all NHS dental care provided.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Decisions about how to provide NHS dental services are an operational matter for the NHS, not a decision for the Government or Parliament.

You could start a new petition calling on the Government to nationalise dental services, so that these are provided by public sector workers.

We have published a petition calling on the Government to revoke the Health and Social Care Act 2012 and renationalise the NHS, which you might like to sign: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/300019
