Petition Action

NHS trusts should not deny treatments based on the BMI.

Additional Information

NHS trusts should not be allowed to deny surgery, and other treatments, based on a person's body mass index (BMI).

The BMI does not measure the healthcare needs of a patient, so its use is not acceptable as a simple-minded filter.
