Include newly self employed 19-20, for COVID-19 Self-employment Support Scheme.
I would like them to consider the newly self employed members of the UK and allow them to benefit from the COVID-19 Self-employment Income Support Scheme. The self-assessment window for 2019-20 starts on the 6th April 2020, why can’t this tax return be used to enable them to receive this support?
Like myself, there are many other people in the UK who have only just become self employed from this tax year (2019-2020) and require support during this unprecedented times. As does the longer served self employed, we also have businesses, contracts, bills and families to support. If the self assessment deadline for 2018-19 is being extended for 4 weeks, why can’t the 2019-20 self assessment be taken into account when you are able to start submitting them in just over a week on the 06/04/2020?
