Small LTD Company Director dividends to be taken into account for income support
There are many small businesses in the UK who operate as a Limited Company. The majority of company directors pay themselves a PAYE wage and also pay themselves a dividends, which tax is paid on both. We are asking for dividends paid to company directors to be taken into account for Income Support.
Many LTD companies started off as a self employed sole trader. With hard work, expansion & employment many transition into a small LTD company director. The Federation of Small Businesses stated in 2019 small LTD companies employed over 16.6 million people and contributed a turn over of £2.2 trillion to the UK economy. If the dividends aren't included in the income support and directors can't afford to live then the end result is their business could go bust and 100,000's of jobs could be lost.
