That the NHS (National Health Service) be awarded the George Cross
Make a recommendation to Her Majesty The Queen (via the George Cross Committee) that the NHS, collectively, be awarded the George Cross due to their courage in extremely dangerous circumstances caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The George Cross (GC) is awarded for "acts of the greatest heroism or for the most conspicuous courage in circumstances of extreme danger". NHS personnel are and will continue to put themselves at great personal and collective risk by being on the 'front line' in the fight against COVID-19. The George Cross has rarely been awarded collectively, but the National Health Service is truly a worthy recipient of this recognition.
