Petition Action

Change Coronavirus job retention scheme employment start date.

Petition Details

Please change the coronavirus job retention scheme start date from 28 February 2020 to 20 March 2020 as that's the date the government announced the scheme.

Additional Information

I was working for different employer till 29th February 2020 and started new job on 9th March 2020.

Now I'm at risk of being redundant as government Coronavirus job retention scheme doesn't cover employments started after 28 February 2020.

How am I covered and what am I supposed to do after regularly working for 20 years and paying my taxes. I've got a family with little kids to look after.

HMRC can look into anybody if they've been working for different employer with NI number or tax ref.
