Suspend all university deadlines until students can safely return to university.
The Government must compel universities to suspend all deadlines for final year students until they are able to safely return to campus and their studies. Many are deprived of the essential resources required to complete their studies. Their huge investment in student fees must not be jeopardised.
Students across the country are as distressed as everyone regarding COVID-19 with the added stress of completing their degrees deprived of the facilities and resources they have paid £9250/year for. A huge number of students do not have access to the essential resources and materials needed to complete their degrees. Many will find it impossible to complete final projects without access to specialist computer, printing, darkrooms and many other resources that are simply not available at home.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Decisions about university teaching, assessments and exams are a matter for individual universities, and decisions about university admissions are a matter for individual universities and UCAS, not the UK Government or Parliament.
If you have concerns about admissions you should raise these with UCAS, and if you have concerns about your university's arrangements for teaching and assessment you should raise these with your university or the Office for Students, which regulates the higher education sector.
We understand that the current situation is stressful for many people, including students. Student Minds, a mental health charity for students, is collating guidance and developing resources to support students experiencing stress as a result of the current situation, which you may find useful: www.studentminds.org.uk/coronavirus.html
