Suspend the benefit cap during for 6 months during covid-19 crisis
The benefit cap as widely affected many poeple on universal credit even before covid-19. Resulting in evictions and children going hungry. The benefit cap only applies to those who do not earn enough each month. Many single parents are unable to work at the moment & also receive a benefit cap.
The benefit cap should be suspended for 6 months up to the amount of £2500. This should allow those who have previously been struggling to have the support during covid-19. The benefit cap has also been applied to many poeple not knowing how it would effect them, giving people a 6 month suspension would help those most vulnerable not only during this crisis but after.
