Create a New Law stipulating that the UK be Self-Suffient in PPE Provision
I would like the UK Government to put into Law the requirement for all Essential PPE for the UK health and social care sectors to be designed, built and manufactured within the UK. This should ensure that if another Pandemic happens we will be self sufficient in the provision of PPE.
The Primary Role of the Government to protect the Citizens of the UK.
By not having self-sufficiency in the manufacture and supply of critical PPE to the NHS and social care sector we are at the mercy of other countries and their supply and production chains and quality control.
I want a UK Law created stipulating that Ventilators, Face Masks, protective gowns and Gloves are manufactured entirely within the UK. Providing a guaranteed supply of these items at all times and a surge capability at times of crisis.
