Waive current quarter’s student rent paid to private landlords
Most universities ended contracts early for students using uni accommodation, with no further cost to students, those using private landlords are still pursued for the next 3 months rent to 30th June. We ask that a rule is introduced so private student tenants are released from their contracts now.
Introduce a rule aimed at the private student landlords to all contracts to be terminated ASAP as most landlords are insisting they need the next 3 months rent to end of June 2020. Students renting privately have a big disadvantage as those living on campus have had their contracts terminated early without any penalties.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Suspending payments for rent is a matter for individual landlords, and not the UK Government or Parliament.
