Petition Action

Include those who have recently left employment in an income protection scheme

Petition Details

We are calling on the government to provide an 80% scheme for those who have, after 28th February 2020:

• Left employment voluntarily and cannot find work
• Finished a fixed term contract
• Been dismissed and cannot return to their employer
• Have less than 1 year in self-employment

Additional Information

We are calling on the government to extend their scheme to the above workers, as we are falling through the cracks and being left without income or support. We are following the governments guidelines on social distancing and should be looked after in exactly the same way as everyone else.

We pay into the system just as everyone does or has, and therefore deserve equal treatment during this crisis.

Without help, we are going to suffer financially. We need the government to support us.
