Increase the Death In Service Benefit for NHS Staff during the CV-19 epidemic.
Increase the death in service benefit by 2 extra years pay for NHS Staff who may die as a result of contracting the Corvid-19 virus.
The highly contagious nature of this virus combined with overwhelming numbers of affected persons exposes NHS Staff to a significantly increased risk of contracting the disease. The staff have no option to avoid this risk and despite the use of PPE, the risk cannot be entirely managed. It is only appropriate therefore that loss of life in service should receive additional compensation.
