Make thyroid tests during pregnancy a standard protocol.
I would like to make it a standard procedure that blood tests should also include testing for any underlying thyroid problems/ issues during pregnancy.
in some hospital thyroid testing is not a standard procedure during pregnancy, undiagnosed thyroid problems can cause problems conceiving and maintaining a healthy pregnancy.
Once discovered, treatment can go ahead -
Treatment with sufficient amounts of thyroid hormone replacement significantly reduces the risk for developing pregnancy complications associated with hypothyroidism, such as premature birth, preeclampsia, miscarriage, postpartum hemorrhage, anemia and abruptio placentae.
