Include plants & planting as 'essential items and activity' during C19 lock-down
Urgently review the 'essential items and activities' to include plants, agriculture and horticulture. This is a time-sensitive issue... planting and nature will not wait!
Mitigate:
• the potentially devastating impact of C19 lockdown rules n the agriculture and horticulture industries
• long-term implications of not allowing people to tend their allotments mean potential fruit/veg shortages
• the impact on insect and wildlife [with reduced pollination] long-term impacts
• impact on mental health if people can't 'do something' for nature in these terrible times – homes need life in plant form too populated with butterflies/bees [other insects], etc.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. Agriculture has been permitted, including the use allotments. There is no essential items list, but there are limited retailers who are able to operate for visitors, however since you started your petition garden centres have been able to reopen.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
