Increase care staff pay in care homes, supported living & recognise their work
To increase the pay of care workers and front line staff working in care homes, supported living services etc and recognise their work.
Care workers are not considered skilled workers despite they play a crucial role to support the vulnerable of our society with lots of trainings and knowledge and skills which many don’t have.
Government should recognise Care as a specialist profession and acknowledge our hard work

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
The Government is only responsible for the pay of public sector workers. The pay for most carers is a matter for individual employers, and not the Government or Parliament.
We have published a number of petitions calling on the Government to take actions that would financially reward various key workers, including carers, which you might like to sign:
Identify and reward all key workers due to Covid-19: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/308903
Make hazard pay mandatory for key workers in the midst of COVID 19: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/307619
Give all key workers a 100% tax and Nat. Ins. holiday through COVID-19 crisis: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/306845

We have also published a petition calling on the Government to consider social care as equally important to NHS, which you might like to sign: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/302897
