County Councils to set aside land/space to plant a tree for each COVID-19 victim
Once we have emerged from the COVID-19 pandemic, ask parliament to force county councils to allocate land or space, with government backing, so that a tree can be planted for every person who died in their county as a result of the COVID-19 virus.
There is no doubt that the current COVID-19 pandemic has changed our lives and will continue to do so for many years. Each day we are faced with grim news announcing an increasing number of COVID-19 cases and associated deaths, with only the acts of individual and group kindness towards others to punctuate the news.
Let's create forests, woods or areas all over the UK to remember those who have fallen to the virus, to give us somewhere to reflect, enjoy the open air and help our environment.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Decisions about local memorials for victims of coronavirus will be a matter for individual local authorities, and not the Government or Parliament.
You could start a petition calling on the Government to provide funding to local authorities to erect trees to memorialise people who died of coronavirus.
