Compel employers to re-employ people they have let go and put them on furlough
To enable people to benefit from the furlough scheme automatically in cases where they have been let go by firms after 28th February but have not been re-employed.
At the moment it is up to employers to re-employ qualifying former employees but it seems not all are doing so.
Employers may be unaware or misinformed about the furlough scheme or simply reluctant.
Also former employees may feel intimidated or easily put off when approaching their former employers.
