Erect a national monument to the staff of the NHS
It should be inscribed with the names of all those NHS staff and carers who have already made, and those that still will make, the ultimate sacrifice of giving their lives whilst providing care and comfort to others.
The government should see to construct a permanent monument to recognise the extrodinary work of the NHS during this harrowing time. Each and every day of this crisis NHS staff and carers go to work in the most difficult and distressing of circumstances.
Their work exposes them to a much higher risk than the general population of contracting COVID. Despite knowing this risk they continue to work and to serve others. As a direct result of infection contracted whilst at work many will become ill and sadly some will die. Their selflessness and sacrifice should not be forgotten.
Those who give their lives must not be forgotten.
