Petition Action

Allow Garden Centres to trade as supermarkets during the Corona Virus pandemic

Petition Details

Millions of citizens need to be occupied and being able to nurture plants and vegetables is a way to allow them to be at home and occupied without being tempted to go out and potentially spread the virus. Garden centres have large open car parks where customers can collect on line orders safely.

Additional Information

Apart from the social wellbeing of many retired and enforced furlowed gardeners this will create, keep happy and give a sense of achievement, there is a strong economic case for these businesses to remain open and therefore viable. Wildlife and pollinators e.g. bees also need gardens.
