Increase funding for UK roads to bring them up to a drivable standard

Have you seen the state of the roads in the UK today? I cannot count the number of times my wheel has hit a pothole. I feel that since the UK is a driving nation we should make more of a conscious effort to keep our roads in a drivable condition. The government must increase its funding in this area to achieve this aim.
