Prohibit eviction from any type of accommodation after coronavirus outbreak
A right to housing is a basic human right. Implement permanently a total prohibition of eviction, of any kind, unless ordered by the Court as a result of quick and easily accessible for both, tenants and landlords, legal process
Evictions destroys mental health, private and professional lives, traumatise and put the tenants into severe debts. Evictions cause loss of basic security in the tenants, and ruins the continuity of their affairs. More often evictions being carried out by the landlords from very unjustifiable reasons and served within unreasonable short notice.
Illegal evictions become practically non-prosecutable in the UK, although they occur on a mass scale.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We understand that you want the Government to protect tenants from eviction during the coronavirus outbreak, but it's not clear exactly what changes you want the Government to make.
Your petition asks for eviction from any type of property to be prohibited, but goes on to suggest there should be an easy to access legal procedure open to tenants and landlords. It is therefore not clear in what circumstances you want it to be possible for tenancies to be ended.
We have published the following petition, which you might like to sign:
