Change the COVID 19 furloughing rules for those that have recently moved jobs
I would like the government to provide a method of ensuring that those who moved to a new job between end of February and the end of march have a way of getting the same support as others with regards to the government support for furloughing workers.
The employee retention package announced by the government prevents workers who started a new job since the end of February being entitled to this funding as their new place of work is not eligible to claim the 80% relief of their salary.
This is a huge oversight and puts thousands of workers at risk and stuck in the place of having no income and little to no prospect of getting employment in this current economy.
