Petition Action

CBILS enhancements: Increasing SME access to critical funding

Petition Details

• Promote the intermediary-led route to market

• Extend CBILS to include more alternative & non-bank lenders

• Reduce restrictive institutional block funding arrangements, releasing capital for smaller lenders

• Support valuation & surveying communities, unlocking a backlog of applications

Additional Information

There has never been a more vital for UK SMEs to receive access to critical funding. As a trade body with 30-years of experience helping to fund UK businesses, we are well placed to spot challenges the CBILS initiative will face.

We urge Chancellor Sunak and HM Treasury to assess these considerations. Our lending community wants to work with him and his team to help accelerate funding applications, ensuring British businesses receive the right finance, in the right areas, at the right time.

You could start a new petition stating exactly what changes you want the Government to make to this scheme.
