Petition Action

Award the George Cross to the entire NHS

Petition Details

We would like the Government to recognise the heroism, dedication and sacrifice of NHS workers and their families during the 2020 Covid19 Pandemic

Additional Information

In 1942, the UK Government awarded the George Cross to Malta. In 1999 it also awarded the RUC the same honour.

The award is given for "acts of the greatest heroism or of the most conspicuous courage in circumstances of extreme danger"

The weekly applause to thank the NHS, that the whole nation is participating in, will end at some point, and we would like to see a more permanent tribute to those that led the fight, especially those that gave their life on behalf of the citizens of the UK.
