Offer government support to animal charities at this time of crisis.
Extend charitable support to independent animal rescue charities, so they can weather the storm of covid 19 and still be in existence at the end. Their work in taking in abandoned and abused animals is essential to avoid mass euthanasia. Animals in their care are now in danger of euthanasia too.
Support has been offered to the charity sector but seems not to offer any support to animal rescue charities. Many of them will not survive as they are dependent on fundraising activity events which are impossible for now, and on retail charity shops which are closed. Without their existence thousands of animals already in rescue will risk death, and future strays will have nowhere to go.
