Petition Action

Include businesses renting serviced offices in the Business Support Grant Fund

Petition Details

The inequality of the criteria set by the Government has to change. For the lower 10K band small businesses should have to produce a commercial rental agreement to access the funding and not use a process that excludes around 50% of small businesses in the UK.

Additional Information

Not all businesses are in receipt of Small Business Rates relief because they are in Serviced Offices and the business rates due on their offices are paid by their landlords.

Research shows that around 53% of UK SMEs rent serviced offices. This would suggest that a similar percentage of people are employed by companies renting serviced offices.

The criteria for accessing the fund must change so that it is fully inclusive to all UK small businesses.
