Rejection code: honours (see below for details)
Make sure NHS staff receive recognition when the next round of awards are made.
Make appropriate awards to NHS and other front line staff when the next round of honours are considered. The honours system could be used to formally give the thanks of the nation to those who have risked their own lives and wellbeing for the sake of others.
There are many NHS staff, especially those in ICU departments who are going above and beyond the call of duty, working long hours and leaving family’s for days at a time to work. There is huge pressure and responsibility on the shoulders of the lead consultants. The nation should show its thanks in a tangible way by endowing many with awards when honours are considered.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We can't accept your petition because it asks for someone to be nominated for an honour.
Members of the public can nominate people for honours directly, although it is not possible to nominate a group or organisation for an honour. You can find out how to nominate someone for an honour here: www.gov.uk/honours
We have accepted petitions calling for the Government to award people working in essential occupations medals, which you might like to sign.
If you want the Government to award Covid-19 medals to all emergency services and involved armed forces, you may wish to sign this petition: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/302613
If you want the Government to create a medal to honour the fortitude of people working in essential occupations, you may wish to sign this petition: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/308035
