Provide all NHS workers in direct close contact with patients with suitable PPE
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Government must ensure that all hospital workers in close contact with patients who may be COVID-19-positive are provided with, and made to wear, full Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to ensure their safety from the virus. A MASK IS THE ABSOLUTE MINIMUM FOR ALL WARDS
NHS staff are constantly exposed to COVID-19 when in close contact with patients, and yet some do not even have facemasks. Healthcare workers have, in some cases, been told to remove masks they have bought themselves because they are not being supplied by management. Without appropriate protection, they stand a high risk of contracting the COVID-19 virus from patients who are asymptomatic and are in hospital for another reason. Clapping NHS workers is no substitute for ensuring health and safety
