Petition Action

Assistance for the S/E who do not qualify for the Economic Resilience Scheme

Petition Details

Address the inequality of the support for the small Sole Traders with the current Covid 19 bale-out. Urgent help needed for fixed costs
Via their UTR numbers their overheads are declared to HMRC as are their profits.fixed costs come out of turnover.profits are what's left

Additional Information

Help is needed for premises, rents, insurances, feeding costs where working horses and other livestock retained.
These business are following government directive to close , but their
overheads continue with no cash-flow coming in. It is not sustainable without urgent help, many will lose everything
The proposed HMRC scheme is too little too late and does not address the issue. Within our Sole Traders and S/E is a wealth of talent that contributes to the trading success of our Nation.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action, and it is not clear from your petition what support you are calling for.

As the Economic Resilience Scheme is a Welsh Government initiative, you could start a new petition explaining clearly what specific kind(s) of financial or other support you would like the UK Government to provide to self-employed people.
