Bring British Insurers to heel over refusal to honour business interruption Ins
We appeal to the government to bring the British Insurers to heel for their unresponsiveness and disregard for government directive on business interruption insurance. Businesses have insured risks under denial of access, infectious disease & natural disaster accident insurers refuse to respond.
Businesses have insured themselves against risk paying hefty premiums and many are now left with no option but to lay off people and go bust. Many retailers and SME's do not have the cashflow to pay employees or suppliers. Insurers are refusing to engage despite the PM stating that he added covid 19 to the infectious disease list so that companies could claim. INSURERS we have salons, pubs, restaurants, nurseries lowest paid losing everything, mass lay offs and tax payer DWP picking up bill

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
The decision to pay out under a policy is one for individual insurance companies, not the UK Government or Parliament.
If you are unhappy with the decision of your insurer you should complain directly to them.
If you are unsatisfied with how an insurer responds to your complaint you may wish to contact the financial ombudsman: www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/businesses/complaints-deal/insurance
