Ban the use of fireworks & sky lanterns during COVID-19
Please ban the use of fireworks & sky lanterns during the COVID -19 pandemic. They are being used to ‘Clap’ For Carers however these methods are unnecessary & have potential to put further strain on the front line emergency services during this time of crisis.
Speaking on behalf of myself & many others as an owner of livestock; having no income during this time is a real worry for myself & for the welfare of animals. Fireworks cause animals to bolt & can have catastrophic effects leading to hefty veterinary costs. Possibly resulting in unnecessary death of an animal.
With regards to sky lanterns; what goes up must come down. During this dry spell, these lanterns pose a real fire risk, putting further pressure onto our front line emergency services
