Delay the start of the summer term due to Covid-19 so children can be in school
Delay start of summer term so it starts later and ends during summer holidays, due to the Covid-19 lockdown, to increase the amount of time children can physically be in school.
The main benefit of this would be for childrens’ mental health. Not being in school is both educationally and socially detrimental to our children.
This aids those trying to juggle work and educating their children at home and the self-employed to make up for lost income due to Covid-19 over summer.
Remote learning is not comparable to children being in school.
There is not a necessity for children to be at home again so long over summer after being so during the Covid-19 lockdown.
