Petition Action

Ensure that the British taxpayer does not pay for Princess Beatrice's wedding.

Petition Details

Ensure that, in the massive financial and commercial hardship which Britain is facing caused by the Coronavirus, that the British taxpayer does not fund the wedding of Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi (planned for 2021) to the tune of £0.01p or less.

Additional Information

The financial impact from the Coronavirus will be massive, and businesses and individuals will be hit financially like never before. The Queen is the wealthiest landowner in the world and is personally worth £530 million. Prince Andrew is worth £32 million. The British taxpayer should not be made to finance this wedding to any amount, and not the security bill. The British Monarchy are rich enough to pay for this wedding themselves.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

It has already been announced that the wedding of Princess Beatrice will be privately funded, so we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
