Extend Student Maintenance Loans to those studying Distance Learning degrees
Provide Maintenance loans to those studying distance learning degrees, such as those studying with the open university.
The government has previously stated an intent to extend maintenance loans to those distance learning, but has never done so. It the wake of Covid 19 and the possibility of social distancing for a long time to come, now seems the perfect time to do so. Maintenance loans for distance learners will also allow more mature students with caring responsibilities to access adult education.
