Petition Action

Give Captain Tom Moore Knighthood for his services to the NHS and community.

Petition Details

To award Captain Tom Moore a knighthood for his services to his country. Both is his armed services career and more recently his effort in raising an unprecedented sum of money for the NHS in their work dealing with this Covid-19 pandemic.

Additional Information

Captain Moore is 100 years old, has had a hip operation, and has, even with limited abilities, show us we can still all help in this pandemic in 'doing our bit'.
He has inspired the nation! He has enabled us all to help. He has made people feel, in his words, 'Tomorrow is a better day'.
At a time of crisis one man, has inspired & given hope, yet at 100 years old, shown us that whatever age we are there, is no reason ever to give up.
He has put the 'Great' back into Britain.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We know lots of people want to petition for Colonel Moore to receive an honour, but the Government will only accept individual nominations, not petitions, so we can’t publish your petition.
