Household bills & rent should be charged at 80% if bill payers are on furlough.
We would like to see rent and the common household bills be reduced by 20% for bill payers on furlough who are receiving 80% of their wage.
Energy bills are much higher as families are being instructed to stay home. With only 80% of their wage this could easily put the family into debt.
Assisting with wages isn't enough if the citizen is met with the same or potentially increased bills. The Government are responsible for minimising personal debts following this crisis.
We would like government to take immediate action and to reduce
rent and household bills for occupants on furlough, only receiving 80% of their wage.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Suspending payments for household bills is a matter for individual utility providers and landlords, and not the UK Government or Parliament. The Government has introduced emergency legislation to suspend new evictions from social or private rented accommodation while this national emergency is taking place: www.gov.uk/government/news/complete-ban-on-evictions-and-additional-protection-for-renters
The Government's advice to tenants states that tenants should continue to pay rent and abide by all other terms of their tenancy agreement to the best of their ability, and that tenants who are unable to do so should speak to their landlord at the earliest opportunity: assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/876500/Consolidated_Landlord_and_Tenant_Guidance_COVID_and_the_PRS_v4.2.pdf
