Stop the slaughter of ex- racehorses.
There are approximately 5000 thoroughbreds bred each year for the sport of racing in the UK. Around half of all racehorses are sent to slaughter before their 5th birthday. I want this unnecessary suffering to stop.
We need to stop treating horses as a commodity and we need to give them the respect and care that they deserve after they have made millions for the racing industry.
It is cruel and easily remedied by stopping the extreme breeding of thoroughbreds.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We understand you want to stop the slaughter of racehorses, but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do to achieve this.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
