Scrap the HS2 project

Additional Information

COVID19 is prompting different priorities. The HS2 project is very expensive - that money is needed to support the country/people in more basic ways. HS2 will result in huge distressing losses of valuable habitats that we need for our health and well being. For what gain? Very little that I can see. The country will be in recession - what value is there in a fast rail journey from one city to another? There are few jobs to travel to. Local businesses and local infrastructure is what is needed to rebuild.
