Award a Knighthood to Captain Tom Moore for services to the NHS

Petition Details

Please discuss including Captain Tom Moore, now famed for raising over £17m for the NHS during the COVID-19 pandemic, in the Queen's Birthday Honours list. I'd like to recommend Captain Moore for a KCB. Not knowing his address etc, the usual honours process cannot apply and time is pressing.

Additional Information

Captain Moore has become famous in the UK for walking 100 laps of his garden aged 99, in joint celebration of his upcoming 100th birthday, and in support of raising £1,000 for the NHS. Captain Tom Moore has become an icon of the British approach to a time of crisis and has inspired many across the nation, reaching a total fundraising target of over £17 million. Captain Tom Moore's determination has provided a significant fiscal benefit to the NHS, and a psychological one to the People of the UK.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We know lots of people want to petition for Colonel Moore to receive an honour, but the Government will only accept individual nominations, not petitions, so we can’t publish your petition.
