Erect a statue representing Captain Tom Moore on 4th plinth in Trafalgar Square.

Petition Details

I would like there to be a statue of Captain Tom Moore on the 4th plinth in Trafalgar Square.

Additional Information

The events surrounding his action have captured the moment,
representing the value our nation places on the NHS
and a focus of common purpose in overcoming the crisis.

Certainly the statue should include his walking aid
and desirably a reference to the NHS, possibly a nurse.

Health workers, carers and elderly people will be among the hardest hit in the passage of the virus.
The statue would also serve to commemorate them.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Decisions about what is displayed on Trafalgar Square is a matter for the Mayor of London and London Assembly, not the Government or House of Commons.
