Allow Nursery’s to keep the free early education entitlements as promised!
On 17/04/2020 the UK Government withdrew their promise to fund nursery’s with the free early education entitlements and allow them to furlough staff. The early years sector want the government to change the policy back to what was originally promised. Nursery’s will not survive after this.
Nursery’s will not survive without the funding and the option to furlough staff. Many nurseries have been rejected for Small Business Grants so have received no additional help. Lots of nursery’s have also promised to not charge parents during the closure. This change in promise will lead to job losses. The Coronavirus Job Retention scheme was set up to stop redundancy’s. This will cause 1000’s of job losses through the Early Years Sector.
