Students Not To Wear Uniform When Returning To School After Lockdown

Petition Details

To let schools wear home clothes/ non uniform for a period of time after student have gone back to school after lockdown

Additional Information

By the time lockdown is over (in three weeks) and students will be returning to school. Students have been stuck in home (apart from key worker’s children) for nearly two months and have not had a chance to socially interact with their friends or express themselves out of school and in school. Many teens are also dealing with metal heath issues and it’s hard for them during this time. And students would find it helpful to dress in non uniform to feel more expressed and comfortable.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

This is a matter for individual schools and their governing bodies, not the UK Government or Parliament. If you wish your local school to allow their students to wear clothes other than their school uniform, you could contact the school directly.
