Urgently extend the statutory age limit for SEN provision given Covid19

Petition Details

We ask for an amendment to the children and families act to permit an extension of the age from 25 to 26 for entitlement to special educational provision in light of the Covid19 pandemic. Vital time is being lost by so many vulnerable young people whereby the teaching of vital skills is restricted.

Additional Information

Young people with learning difficulties often rely on going out to learn so many vital life skills. Travelling shopping conversing are all essential skills for independence. During the lock down vital time is being missed. The law should be extended to allow SEN provision to 26
from 25 for a particular age group of between 18-25, with guidance that the covid 19 pandemic should be treated as an exceptional circumstance entitling those harmed by its consequences to be given another chance
.
