Allow Golf Courses an Exemption to open under the COVID-19 lockdown
Allow golf courses across the United Kingdom to open amidst the COVID-19 lockdown to be played on as a daily form of exercise.
Golf is a sport that can be played whilst also respecting social distancing rules, and can provide a form of light exercise which is key to Mental Health.
Golf is also played by a large number of over 70s, as such this gives the chance for a vulnerable subdivision of the population to exercise safely, something recommended by the government in this lockdown period.
Finally, the closure of golf courses threatens the existence of many clubs as the majority run on tight margins.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Since you started your petition the Government has announced that golf courses in England can re-open.
